Solar panel cleaning
Dust, pollen, and bird droppings shade your panels a little more every week. We clean them with pure water and soft brushes, nothing that can scratch or void a warranty, so the array produces what it was sized to.
Why dirty panels cost you money
Inland Southern California is dry, dusty, and windy, and it doesn't rain enough to rinse a roof. A film of dust cuts output, and bird droppings shade individual cells hard enough to drag down a whole string. You paid for the system's rated output. Clean glass is how you get it.
We rinse with deionized pure water, the same spot-free water we use on windows. It dries without mineral residue, so the panels stay clean longer than a hose-down ever could.

How we clean panels
- Deionized pure water only. No soap, no chemicals, no residue.
- Soft-bristle water-fed brushes that won't scratch the glass.
- Cleaned early, while the panels are cool.
- Never a pressure washer on an array.
- Recurring plans for homes, HOAs, and commercial arrays.
Homes, HOAs, and commercial arrays
Rooftop residential
Most home arrays are done in under an hour. Book it with your window clean and the whole roofline is handled in one visit.
HOA and multi-unit
Carports and shared arrays on a recurring schedule with one invoice to the association.
Commercial and ground-mount
Warehouse roofs, carport canopies, and ground-mount fields. We'll scope the array and give you a per-visit price.
Solar questions
How often should solar panels be cleaned?
Inland, twice a year is the usual answer, and more often if you're near open fields, agriculture, or a lot of birds. If you watch your monitoring app, a clean is due when output drops with no change in weather.
Will cleaning void my warranty?
Pure water and soft brushes are what panel manufacturers recommend. What voids warranties is abrasives, harsh chemicals, and pressure washers. We don't use any of them.
Can't I just hose them off?
Tap water dries with mineral spots that shade the cells almost as much as the dust did. Deionized water dries clear.
Do you clean the panels on a hot afternoon?
No. Cold water on hot glass is a bad idea. We schedule solar early in the morning or when the panels are cool.
What customers say
Twenty-year customers, fire cleanups, and crews that wear booties in the house. In their words.
"We have been using West Coast Services for over 20+ years and I cannot say enough how professional, reliable and go the extra mile! Ken and his team are without a doubt the best in the industry and I completely trust them in my home."
"Three very professional gentlemen cleaned the inside and outside of our windows. Extremely polite, wore paper booties inside, and did an outstanding job. They even let us know one of our double-pane windows may have a leak."
"Ken's crew did a fabulous job! I hired them to power wash my roof and house after we were involved in the July fire in Riverside. They not only removed all soot from my roof but cleaned all the green mold growing."
